I was fascinated by the Devil's Bridge at Borgo a Mozzano in Tuscany and it became a crucial element in "Sparrow's Revenge: A Novel of Postwar Tuscany." A photo I took is on the cover of the book.
Liam Callanan: All Saints
Also, Callanan's "The Cloud Atlas"
Dave Eggers: What Is the What
A powerful book by one of my favorite authors.
« More publicity for "Sparrow's Revenge" | Main | And still more attention for "Sparrow's Revenge" »

Hi Paul, I clipped out your article from the March 1 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and set it next to my computer, in hopes of finding a spare moment to email that I enjoyed your article so much. This was the first time I read your work, and came across it as a daily subscriber to the JS. Your storytelling was so enjoyable, and so rare to find. My favorite part was how the Devil appeared dressed as a monk: "The woman thought there was something fishy, however, because his feet seemed to be facing backward." I also liked the whimsy weaved into the history. Thank you for sharing your gift of writing!
